Amanda Wilhelm
Voice, theory
Amanda Wilhelm is a mezzo-soprano based in Kitchener-Waterloo. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance and Opera Diploma from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Amanda has been teaching voice for over 10 years, and cites her experiences singing in choir, playing in band, and going to the theatre as what got her into music. Her teaching style incorporates music from several genres including; pop, musical theatre, and classical, and she has successfully prepared students for RCM exams, auditions, and singing competitions.
Recently, Amanda was featured in the finale concert of the 2016 Stratford Summer Music Festival, as one of six exemplary female artists from the Stratford area. Other highlights include: Bach's St. John's Passion, Ariel Ramirez' Missa Criolla, and Zelenka's Missa Omnium Sanctorum (North American premiere).
While being trained classically, Amanda is comfortable teaching many different styles of singing. She has spent the several years working with training choirs for KWGlee, as well as teaching privately at a number of local schools including; Renaissance school of the Arts, and the KW Billingual School.
